The crew at Share A Fishing Charter booked us a great family trip yesterday, where we spent another productive day at the Coronado Islands!
The conditions were almost perfect all day and the fish were on the chew. Although the yellowtail were a bit finicky, the rockfish and lingcod were more than willing. The day began with chasing bird schools for yellowtail, and although fish were found, they didn’t feel like eating yet. As morning turned to noon, we decided the kids were getting restless, and needed something to pull on. Rigs were switched to go drift for rockfish and lingcod, and they were definitely biting!
Maddie (below) ended up bringing home the proverbial bacon with 2 nice lings, and a limit of rockfish. Dad landed a couple reds, and mom didn’t disappoint with reds and a short lingcod! As the day progressed, the yellowtail started a slow bite, and although we hooked a couple, they were to mean to land.
At the end of the day, everyone had smiles and memories, and to a captain, that’s what really matters. Tight lines and straight shots!
